Morpheus is the latest Carnauba wax offering from BMD Luxurury Wax line. With 83% pure T1 Carnauba per wax volume it does promise great clarity and reflectivity. The first characteristic that impressed me much in my initial trials was the ease of use. Very easy to spread and extremely easy to buff. This alone made me confident enough to use it as the protection stage for one of latest detail projects, an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.
Having a high percentage of T1 Carnauba you would expect it to be a hard wax. Normally with hard textured waxes I just make sure that I keep the natural oils on top when transferring it to the applicator and keep a uniform pattern while applying it to paint. Even though I always use multiple wax layers as common practice, particularly for Morpheus, I would highly recommend 2 thin layers to get the most out of it, both in looks and durability.
Judging on the final view, clarity on this wax is really top notch. This is what I could capture after three layers with 12 hour intervals.
Very clear indeed, a key point that would really boost the paint system's own characteristics rather than just outshine them. Surface would also become more reflective with a nice crystal gloss look as seen here.
Generally speaking I am very pleased with Morpheus since it does deliver what it is promised to the max. And if you combine it with a special wooden container you 'll know you've earned something really special.
